GUANGZHOU, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Gree Electric Appliances, China's leading air conditioner manufacturer, reported a 7.4-percent profit growth in the first half of 2019.
The company earned a net profit of 13.8 billion yuan (1.9 billion U.S. dollars) in the first six months, according to its interim results report filed to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
The company, based in Zhuhai of south China's Guangdong Province, saw its revenue hit 97.3 billion yuan in the period, up 7 percent year on year.
The company said it has consolidated its leading position in the domestic air conditioner market in the first half of this year and has continued to develop its robotics business.
In 2018, the company's sales of air conditioner for home use remained the largest in China for a 24th consecutive year.
