Children's books donated to mark 70th anniversary of China-Mongolia ties

ULAN BATOR, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- A handover ceremony to donate Chinese children's books as a gift to the Children's Book Palace of Mongolia was held here on Monday.

A total of 2,000 copies of 10 fairy tales by children's author Xiao Ling Ding Dang were donated to children's libraries in all 21 provinces of Mongolia through the Children's Book Palace of Mongolia.

The donation is part of a series of cultural events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of China-Mongolia diplomatic ties.

"We are donating the books as a gift to Mongolian children on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mongolia," Zhou Chunjie, an official from China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, said at the ceremony.

"I believe that such donation is important to deepen cultural ties between the two countries," he added.

Bold Sergelen, head of the cultural policy department of the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, expressed her thanks to the Chinese side and described the donation as a great investment for Mongolian Children.
