RABAT, Sep. 4 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit and his Spanish counterpart Fernando Grande-Marlaska discussed here on Wednesday the fight against drug trafficking, migrant smuggling and terrorism.
"We discussed many issues of common interest, including migration, the fight against drug trafficking and terrorism," Laftit said at a press briefing following the meeting, hailing "the excellent close relationship" between the two countries.
For his part, Grande-Marlaska said that coordination between the security services of the two countries helped dismantle several terrorist networks and prevent many criminal acts.
He added that Spanish and Moroccan security services are working in close cooperation to fight against human trafficking networks, noting the number of irregular migrants who arrived at the Spanish coasts decreased by 45 percent.
Concerning the fight against drug trafficking, the Spanish minister said that the joint operations have brought "positive results." Enditem
