Germany savors victory over Jordan in FIVB World Cup

SHENZHEN, China, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Germany smashed Jordan 96-62 in their last Group G game at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 here on Thursday.

It was the first win for the Germans who will move on to the classification round, while Jordan conceded its third straight defeat.

Four German players scored double-digits, including Dennis Schroder, who finished a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists. Maximilian Kleber made a game-high 18 points.

Ahmad Al Dwairi led Jordan with 17 points and eight rebounds. Dar Tucker added 14 points.

The game went on smoothly as Germany kept scoring easy baskets. They shot for 52 percent beyond the arc, making 16 three-pointers out of 31, beat Jordan 37-28 on the board, including seven offensive rebounds.

The classification round will start on September 7.
