Mu Yi (1st R) and Tao Yao (1st L) escort two students to the gate of Lianhua Primary School of Luzi Village, Chengkou County, southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Sept. 2, 2019. Mu Yi, a 25-year-old PE teacher from Chongqing Municipality, offers a week-long volunteer teaching service and works with a local teacher Tao Yao in this remote village. In the school where only two second-grade students and 18 preschool children study, Mu Yi and Tao Yao also do other jobs as principals, cleaners, cooks and repairwomen. Mu Yi teaches children sports, art and music and tells them about the world outside the mountains, hoping they can learn more new knowledge. The volunteer teaching service is regarded as a way to bring new teaching methods and ideas to poverty-stricken areas and improve local teaching quality. (Xinhua/Liu Chan)
