MIAMI, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Brazil forward Neymar scored on his return from a three-month injury layoff as the five-time World Cup winners drew 2-2 with Colombia in a friendly here on Friday.

Real Madrid's Casemiro struck early for Brazil with a header from Neymar's corner before Luis Muriel equalized from the penalty spot after a high challenge from Alex Sandro.

Muriel put his side ahead just after the half-hour mark with a powerful shot past goalkeeper Ederson after being fed by Duvan Zapata following a counter-attack.

Neymar then netted his 61st goal in 98 international matches after Dani Alves ran onto Philippe Coutinho's lofted pass and crossed for the Paris Saint-Germain No. 10, who completed the easiest of tap-ins at the far post.

The 27-year-old had not played at any level since rupturing ankle ligaments during Brazil's 2-0 friendly win over Qatar on June 5.

Neymar is currently the third highest scorer in Brazil's history, just one goal behind two-time World Cup-winner Ronaldo and 16 shy of record holder Pele.

Brazil will now turn their focus to Peru for a friendly in Los Angeles on Tuesday in a repeat of July's Copa America final, which the Selecao won 3-1. Colombia face Venezuela in Tampa, also on Tuesday.
