Canada trounces Jordan 126-71 in FIBA World Cup classification round

SHANGHAI, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Canada recorded a 126-71 victory over Jordan with 24 three-pointers here on Saturday in FIBA World Cup classification round.

The Group P game proved to be one-sided, as the Canadians posted a 13-0 run from the start. Sacramento Kings point guard Cory Joseph scored a three-pointer from the centre circle, ending the first quarter 31-13 for Canada.

With 14 three-pointers in hand, Canada killed the game 63-35 by halftime. In the second half, Canada had ten more three-pointers and once led by a 60-point margin.

Five Canadian players scored double-digit points to their victory, and Kyle Wiltjer had a game-high 29 points.

Canada will take on Germany in the next match, while Jordan will face Senegal.
