Kuwait to launch project to enhance youth role

KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait will launch a youth media and art project on Sept. 29 to enhance the role of the youth, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, director general of Kuwait's Youth Public Authority (YPA) said on Saturday.

Called Academy of Arts and Media, the project will last eight weeks, Al-Mutairi said at a press conference held at the YPA's headquarters.

The project aims to strengthen the media dialogue for youth and spread culture of dialogue and tolerance to strengthen cohesion and national unity, he noted, adding that it will provide lectures, workshops and training in accordance with the curricula offered by academics, artists, media and journalists.

For his part, Director of the Academy Abdulaziz Al-Mujibel said that the academy building is located in Al-Daiya's Youth Center and ready to receive students of genders.

The academy's headquarters includes six equipped classrooms and a vast one for public lectures as well as a theater for theatrical and cinema projects, seminars, lectures and a library containing references, he said.
