NANCHANG, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Poland's third seed Magda Linette beat Mexico's Giuliana Olmos 6-3, 6-2 to advance in the 2019 WTA Jiangxi Open here on Monday.
It took the 53rd-ranked Poland's player one hour and 17 minutes to secure the victory in her first game of this year's tournament.
"I kept fitting in the game and hope I could do better in the next one," said Linette.
Sweden's fifth seed Rebecca Peterson had a 6-0, 6-3 win over Chinese player Xun Fangying. Another Chinese player Liu Fangzhou had a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 hard-fought victory over her Kazakhstani opponent Anna Danilina.
