LONDON, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.96 percent, or 70.08 points, to close at 7,338.03 points.
London stock exchange group, a British-based stock exchange and financial information company, soared 5.91 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. EVRAZ and Persimmon increased by 4.39 percent and 4.02 percent, respectively.
Antofagasta, a copper mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.87 percent. Informa, a multinational events and publishing company, dropped 0.98 percent. Royal Dutch Shell PLC-A, a major oil and gas company, fell 0.95 percent. Enditem
