SHANGHAI, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Czech Republic beat Poland 94-84 in the FIBA World Cup classification game here on Thursday.
Tomas Satoransky had a double-double with 22 points and 12 assists. Vojtech Hruban scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Jaromir Bohacik pocketed 21 points for Czechs. Adam Waczynski scored 22 points for Poland, followed by 12 from A.J. Slaughter and Damian Kulig apiece.
Poland took a 15-6 lead with an 8-0 run to open the first quarter before Czechs answered a 12-2 to turn the game over on 43-35 at the break. With another 9-0 sprint, Poland cut the deficit to 2 on 46-48 in the third. A dunk made by Pavel Pumprla help Czechs expand the lead to 6 within the last 1 minute and never looked back.
