LONDON, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Liverpool will expect to claim their 13th consecutive Premier League win when they kick off the weekend round of matches in England with a home game against Newcastle United.

Newcastle travel knowing that they produced a shock win away to Tottenham earlier in the season, but the 1-1 draw at home to Watford before the international break looks more like their true form and Steve Bruce's men will have to dig in deep or risk being swept away by Liverpool's constant pressing.

With the Champions League due to kick off next week, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham are all in Saturday action.

Manchester City visit Norwich and goals should be on the menu at Carrow Road, where Norwich have shown that in striker Teemu Pukki, they have a man capable of beating any defense, while at the same time exhibiting defensive frailties.

Norwich's cause isn't helped by injuries to players such as Christoph Zimmermann, Timm Klose, Grant Hanley and Max Aarons, while City are without Aymeric Laporte after his recent knee operation.

Chelsea won 3-2 at Norwich to give Frank Lampard his only league win since taking over at Stamford Bridge and his side faces another test on Saturday when they visit Wolverhampton Wanderers, who possess a potent attacking threat in striker Raul Jimenez.

Europa League action has dulled Wolves' edge at the start of the season, but with no Thursday action coach Nuno Espiritu Santo will expect to see the best from his side on Saturday.

Tottenham entertain fourth placed Crystal Palaces with doubts still remaining over Spurs' early season form after they surrendered a 2-0 lead away to Arsenal before the international break.

The return of Christian Eriksen to the side brought an improvement at the Emirates Stadium, but he and Harry Kane will need to be at their best to beat a Crystal Palace side that has shown its ability to grind out results.

Leicester City's excellent start to the season under Brendan Rodgers sees them third in the table and a win at Old Trafford, where they have not taken all three points since 1998 would confirm that early season promise, while bursting any early season optimism still left among Manchester United fans.

Saturday also sees games between Brighton and Burnley, which promises to be tight after three of the last four games between the two teams produced a total of just one goal, meanwhile Sheffield United entertain Southampton in a game which sees home coach Chris Wilder face the club which released him when he was a teenage player.

Everton have moved up to sixth in the league without ever really convincing, so their trip to face a Bournemouth side that has conceded eight goals in four games is a test of their potential before Quique Sanchez Flores returns as Watford coach with a home game against Arsenal.

Quique returned for his second spell at Vicarage Road after the slightly surprising sacking of Javi Gracia during the international break and returns to a baptism of fire as his side first take on Arsenal before visiting Manchester City next weekend. With just one point from four games, Watford need to see an immediate improvement.
