CAIRO, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Egypt condemned on Saturday drone attacks on two Aramco oil facilities in the east of Saudi Arabia, Egyptian Foreign Ministry said.

In a statement, the ministry affirmed Egypt's solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia, expressing support for the kingdom's measures to maintain its security and stability in order to confront all forms of terrorism, violence and extremism.

Earlier in the day, Yemen's Iran-linked Houthis said they launched early Saturday a 10-drone attack on major oil facilities in Saudi Arabia.

"We promise to widen our attacks as long as the Saudi regime's aggression and economic blockade against our country continue," Houthi-run al-Masirah TV said, citing a statement from the group's military spokesman Yahya Sarea as saying.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Interior Ministry said that the Houthi attacks caused fires at two facilities operated by Saudi state oil giant Aramco.

This is the second major attack against Aramco in nearly one month.

Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab military coalition against Iran-allied Houthis in Yemen for more than four years in support of the exiled internationally-recognized government of Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
