WIC to release report on Internet development trend

BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Reports on China and world Internet development will be released at the sixth World Internet Conference (WIC) to forecast the future trend of Internet development, according to the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) Wednesday.

The reports will review global Internet development over the past five decades and the history of Chinese Internet during the last 25 years, said Liu Liehong, deputy director of the CAC, at a press conference.

Internet infrastructure, innovation capability, development of the digital economy, Internet application, Internet security and governance will be added into the assessment to facilitate China's Internet development, Liu said.

The sixth WIC will be held in the river town of Wuzhen, east China's Zhejiang Province between Oct. 20 and 22.
