BERLIN, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Admir Mehmedi's 1-1 equalizer against Hoffenheim helped Wolfsburg to maintain their unbeaten start to the season at the closer of the 5th round in Bundesliga on Monday.

Hoffenheim caught a bright start into the clash as Sebastian Rudy broke the deadlock with just six minutes played after beating Wolfsburg goalkeeper Pavao Pervan with a curl from 17 meters.

Wolfsburg needed some time to gain a foothold into the game but as the match progressed the "Wolves" came to chances through William and Yannick Gerhardt, who forced Hoffenheim custodian Oliver Baumann into action.

The hosts efforts got rewarded at the half-hour mark when Wout Weghorst's back-heel pass allowed Admir Mehmedi to hammer home from inside the box, making it 1-1 on the scoreboards.

Oliver Glasner's men thought they had turned the tides moments later but Josip Brekalo's goal was disallowed due to a foregone hand ball.

After the half time, Hoffenheim looked more energetic and were able to create a promising chance when Dennis Geiger's cross found Ihlas Bebou, who missed the target at the near post.

Mehmedi overcame Baumann once again but his goal was once more disallowed, this time for an offside at the hour mark.

The Switzerland international remaind in the thick of things, as his dangerous shot on target had to be blocked by Stefan Posch.

Hoffenheim had three golden chances to grab all three points in the closing period but Pervan was on guard to defuse twice before Robert Skov squandered a chance from very close range.

With the 1-1 stalemate, Wolfsburg slip to the 8th position meanwhile Hoffenheim climb on the 11th place of the Bundesliga standings.
