BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- "The Climbers," a film dramatizing the real-life expedition of Chinese mountaineers to ascend Mount Qomolangma in 1960 and 1975, is set to hit Chinese mainland theaters on Sept. 30, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.
Directed by Daniel Lee, the Chinese mountaineering adventure film stars Wu Jing, Zhang Ziyi, Zhang Yi, Jing Boran and Hu Ge.
Sept. 30, a day before the week-long National Day holiday, will see the theatrical release of three highly-anticipated films, including "The Climbers," "The Captain," a cinematic portrayal of a miraculous emergency landing made by a Chinese pilot, and "Me and My Motherland," a film drawing on historical, classic moments since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
