New regulations on health food labeling to take effect

BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- A new set of regulations released by the State Administration for Market Regulation on health food labeling will take effect Tuesday.

The new regulations have clarified the standards for making and changing the labels of health food, including the ingredient list and health claims. The procedure and channel for the release of the lists are also stipulated in the regulations.

The regulations will enable enterprises to play a bigger role in product labeling and research and help boost the development and innovation of the industry.
