HANOI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The 12th Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) convened its 11th meeting in Hanoi on Monday under the chair of the CPVCC General Secretary and Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong.

The committee will discuss draft documents to be submitted to the 13th National Party Congress, slated for 2021, including a draft political report, a draft report on the 10-year implementation of the 2011 Platform, one on the implementation of the socioeconomic development strategy for 2011-2020 and building a strategy for 2021-2030, and another on party building and the execution of the party's statutes, Vietnam News Agency reported.

During its seven-day meeting, the committee will also discuss Vietnam's socio-economic and budgetary performance in 2019-2020, and other important issues.

In his opening speech, Trong noted that the meeting is crucial as it will provide leadership and instruction for the implementation of tasks in 2019-2020 and the organization of all-level party congresses in preparation for the 13th national congress.

He required all members of the committee and other participants to discuss the draft reports thoroughly and pool their ideas to perfect the documents and make decisions on important issues on the agenda.
