BEIRUT, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Foreign Affairs Ministry condemned on Wednesday the military operation carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces in northern Syria, the National News Agency reported.
"This attack is considered as an occupation of the land of Syria which will lead to the killing and displacement of Syrians," the ministry said.
The ministry called on the Turkish leadership to reconsider its decision, urging it to work with other countries to restore stability in Syria and implement international resolutions with emphasis on the unity of the Syrian people and land.
Turkey launched airstrikes aimed at crushing Kurdish fighters in northern Syria on Wednesday after U.S. troops pulled back from the area.
