TAIPEI, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's exports dropped 4.6 percent year on year to 28.1 billion U.S. dollars in September, the latest trade data showed.
The export fall was mainly due to the exports of base metals and articles of base metal, machinery, and plastics and rubber and articles thereof, which declined 17.1 percent, 16.6 percent, and 16.35 percent, respectively.
For the first nine months, Taiwan's exports dropped by 2.5 percent from a year earlier to 242.3 billion U.S. dollars.
