TEHRAN, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that the United States has failed to exercise plots against the Islamic republic.

"I announced today, with assurance, that the plots by the United States, Zionist regime (of Israel) and regional reactionary states to harm Iran have been aborted," Rouhani said in a press conference held in the capital Tehran.

"All confesse that we have left the crisis behind with shrewdness, patience and resistance," he added.

It is predicted that the inflation will continue to drop by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2020), Iranian president noted.

As for the imports and exports, the condition of Iran's exports in the current year has been improved compared to last year, he added.

Rouhani's remarks referred to the ongoing U.S. maximum pressure against Iran to force the Islamic republic back to the negotiation table for a new nuclear deal.

Last year, U.S. President Donald Trump pulled Washington out of the landmark 2015 Iranian nuclear deal and imposed unprecedented sanctions on Iran's economy, particularly on its oil exports.
