BUCHAREST, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- The 7th China Photography Tour Exhibitions in Romania, organized to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, held the closing exhibition on Tuesday in Galati, the capital city of the southeastern county with the same name.

The China Photography Tour Exhibitions was jointly organized by the Association of Euro Foto Art and a photographer organization in Zhuhai, a city in China's southern Guangdong province, with the support of the Romanian Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in Romania.

The organizers held 15 Chinese-themed photography exhibitions in 10 cities in Romania, starting from the National Day of the People's Republic of China on Oct. 1.

At the ceremony in the Multicultural Center in Galati, Chinese Ambassador to Romania Jiang Yu said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and also the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Romania, "these years have witnessed the historical journey of China's rejuvenation and rising up, and played the eternal melody of the friendly cooperation between China and Romania."

According to her, the large scale and wide audience of the tour exhibitions are a kind of heartfelt contribution from the photographers of China and Romania for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, as well as a testimony to the friendship between the Chinese and Romanian peoples.

The ambassador expressed her hope that the Romanian audience will learn about a real, lively and three-dimensional China by visiting the exhibitions, while more and more Chinese photographers will come to Romania to convey the beautiful scenery of the country and specific customs of the people, recorded by the camera, to the Chinese people.

Florinel-Petru Gasparotti, vice president of Galati County Council, who just returned from China, said in his speech that the trip to China was full of surprises and gains, stressing that "I admire China's tremendous development and changes."

He said that he was very happy to recall what he saw and heard during his visit to China by attending the last show of the 7th China Photography Tour Exhibitions in Romania and firmly believed that the event in Galati will draw a successful conclusion for the tour exhibitions on the one hand, and bring the hearts of the two peoples closer through its rich cultural connotations, on the other hand.

At the ceremony, Romanian violinist Thurzo Sandor Jozsef sent a sincere blessing to China with a solo "I Love You, China."

During the month-long China Photography Tour Exhibitions, a total of more than 1,000 Chinese-themed photography works by Chinese and Romanian photographers were exhibited, covering landscapes, human history, social features, urban development, and technological innovations.

These works, according to the organizers, truly, objectively and comprehensively display the reality of China, reflect the artistic standards and beautiful hopes of photographers, and help the Romanian people's understanding of contemporary China.
