TIANJIN, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- A direct flight will be launched on December 15 to link northern China's Municipality of Tianjin and Ulan Bator, the capital city of Mongolia.
It will be the first direct air route that links the two cities, according to Tianjin Airline, the operator of the flight.
The outbound flight will depart from Tianjin once a week on Sunday at 7 p.m. and arrive in Ulan Bator at 9:10 p.m., while the returning flight will leave Ulan Bator at 10:10 p.m. and land in Tianjin at 12:30 a.m.
As Tianjin is the closest port to Mongolia, all Mongolia's seaborne cargo passes through Tianjin Port, according to the airlines.
The opening of the air route is expected to provide a new travel option for travelers from the two countries and promote the bilateral trade and cultural exchange.
