NEW DELHI, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- India's Home Minister Amit Shah Saturday reviewed the country's security situation in the wake of Supreme Court's verdict in Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case, officials said.

"During the review meeting, the home minister was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing law and order situation in different parts of the country, particularly in Uttar Pradesh," an official said.

"Shah also spoke to a few chief ministers to take stock of the situation in their states and asked them to ensure that police and the administration remain in control of the situation."

India's Supreme Court on Saturday pronounced its verdict in the much awaited Babri Masjid- Ram Janmabhoomi of Ayodhya case, saying the disputed land where the Babri Masjid once stood be given to Hindus, while as Muslims be granted five acres of land at a separate "prominent" location in the temple town.

Ahead of the judgement authorities have heightened security across the country, especially in New Delhi, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Indian-controlled Kashmir and many other places.
