BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- A two-day symposium on the spread of Chinese opera in North America has been held at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU).
Focusing on the translation, dissemination, acceptance and research of Chinese opera in North America, the event was the latest in a series of symposiums on the subject held since 2016.
Over 40 scholars from more than 10 prestigious Chinese universities, cultural and research institutions shared their views during the event, which ended Tuesday.
Zhang Chaoyi, director of the Beijing Cultural Exchange Research Center, said that Chinese opera could help the world better understand Chinese culture.
The previous symposiums focused on the overseas dissemination of Chinese opera in Asia and Europe.
