WELLINGTON, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters will travel to Washington DC on Wednesday for anti-terrorism and trade talks.

Peters will attend a ministerial meeting focused on defeating ISIS, and will also continue pursuing New Zealand's trade opportunities, said a government statement on Wednesday.

Peters will participate in a meeting of foreign and defence ministers from key countries contributing to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. The meeting will be chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

While in Washington DC, Peters will also hold meetings with the Trump Administration and Members of Congress. It is understood that Free Trade Agreement negotiations with the United States are on Peters' visiting agenda.

"This visit will build on an officials meeting last week where our two countries agreed to enhance the bilateral trade and investment relationship," said Peters. Enditem
