MOSCOW, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Governor of the Russian Trans-Baikal Region Alexander Osipov said Thursday he had declared Friday a day of mourning in the region for 11 people killed in two traffic accidents over the last 24 hours.
"Investigators are now establishing the details of the accidents," Osipov said in a statement, reminding drivers of the necessity to observe traffic rules.
On Thursday morning, a minibus collided with a truck parked on the side of a road and then with another truck coming from the opposite direction, killing seven people and injuring another two.
On Wednesday evening, a sedan crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed with a sports car, leaving four people dead and three others wounded.
