ACCRA, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese media company StarTimes has rolled out a project targeted at developing young football talents and coaches in Ghana.

The project, christened Bundesliga Football School (BFS), is a partnership between Germany's Bundesliga and StarTimes, the official broadcaster of the Bundesliga in sub-Saharan Africa.

According to a press release by the Chinese firm, the BFS is a new partnership model that targets the development and promotion of young talents worldwide.

It added that the project would involve national football associations, football leagues, and professional clubs to encourage talented young footballers at the grassroots level.

Over the course of one week in December, boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 17 will receive targeted assistance in a series of compact training sessions and workshops.

The sessions will be run by experts and licensed coaches from the youth training centers of Bundesliga clubs, with assistance from selected local trainers.

It is hoped that Ghanaian coaches will also benefit from the project, which will expose them to new methods of developing young talents and build new working cooperation as they work together with their German counterparts.

"StarTimes is seeking to give back to Ghanaians with this football school project through our partnership with the Bundesliga," said Akofa Banson, head of marketing at StarTimes Ghana.

"We will continue to improve our brand and contribute to the growth of Ghana football," she said.
