BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- "Selected Judicial Archives of Longquan," a major project of the National Publication Foundation, has been published in its entirety by Zhonghua Book Company.

The archives are collected at the Longquan Municipal Archives in east China's Zhejiang Province, counting 17,333 dossiers and 880,000 pages, dating between 1851 and 1949. They are known as the best preserved and most sizable local judicial archives from the Republic of China (1912-1949) period.

The archives were jointly filed and selected for 12 years by a research center of Zhejiang University and Longquan's municipal archives administration.

"Selected Judicial Archives of Longquan" includes 96 books, covering 1,084 dossiers and 26,528 archived works, presenting the most representative parts.

Experts said Longquan judicial archives are of unique value in China's legal history, social history and regional history and of great significance in the study of society, humanities and folklores in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and the Republic of China (1912-1949) period.
