Zhejiang outlast Fujian 122-116 in CBA

HANGZHOU, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- With five players scoring double digits, Zhejiang Golden Bulls outlasted Fujian Sturgeons 122-116 in the eighth round of Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Thursday.

Wu Qian and Zhu Xuhang of Golden Bulls combined to score 14 points, gifting the home side a 29-24 advantage in the first quarter. Fujiang stormed to an 11-4 run after Ty Lawson made both free throws to make it 37-35. Strengthening its attack, the visitors continued to enlarge the advantage and led 63-54 into the halftime.

The home side cut the deficit to just five points but Fujian still led 92-87 in the third quarter. Center Zhang Dayu hit a three-pointer after Lawson scored two points for Fujian to make it 111-103. Denmon was fouled outside of the three-point line with only six seconds left to make it 122-116.

Denmon led Zhejiang with 37 points and eight assists, while Wu Qian finished with 23 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Sylven Landesberg added 20 points, Zhang Dayu scored 17 points.

Fujian's center Wang Zhelin scored a team-high 30 points. Lawson contributed 27 points and 11 assists, Amare Stoudemire had double digits with 24 points and 11 rebounds for Fujian.
