SINGAPORE, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's Xu Xin defeated Lin Yun-Ju of Chinese Taipei in straight games to win the men's singles title at table tennis' T2 Diamond Singapore here on Sunday, while fellow Chinese paddler Sun Yingsha scooped the women's singles crown.

Seeded first, Xu was involved in a tightly contested first game against Lin before going on to win 11-9.

Lin had stunned China's Ma Long and Fan Zhendong en route to the T2 Diamond Malaysia title four months ago, but could not restrain the forehand attack from penholder Xu, who pocketed the next three games 11-5, 11-8 and 11-6.

Japan's Harimoto Tomokazu edged Lin Gaoyuan of China to claim third place.

After having dispatched teammate Wang Manyu through full games earlier in the semifinals, Sun triumphed over Japan's Ito Mima in the same manner.

Following victories between the duo in the ITTF World Tour German Open final and World Team Cup final, Sun continued to better Ito on the very last point of the match, with scores of 11-7, 11-3, 6-11, 7-11, 5-3, 3-5, 5-4.

Wang took bronze with a five-game victory over Jeon Ji-hee of South Korea.

The T2 Diamond 2019 tournament adopted a best-of-seven format with all games played to 11 points. If no player has won four games after 24 minutes of play, the match will enter a "FAST5" game played to five points.
