CHENGDU, China, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Liaoning Flying Leopards eased past Sichuan Blue Whale 119-107 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Friday.
Both Sichuan and Liaoning played aggressively at the very beginning of the match and Liaoning got only a four-point lead after the second quarter. From the third quarter, Liaoning picked up the defense and never looked back.
Guo Ailun and Lance Stephenson contributed 27 and 22 points separately for Liaoning. Courtney Fortson made a game-high 54 points and Mo Mengchen had 14 points for Sichuan, but they were still unable to stop their team from losing.
"Our team performed rather positively in today's game. Although we need to improve more on defense base on video feedback later," said Yin Kui after the game, the coach of the Sichuan team.
