JAKARTA, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed and one was seriously injured after a minibus hit a truck on a highway in Indonesia's Java Island on Sunday, police said.

The collision took place on the Cikopo-Palimanan toll road of Subang district in West Java province, said head of the district police's traffic unit Bambang Sumitro.

Both vehicles were moving into the same direction, but suddenly the driver of the minibus which was at the behind of the truck lost control of his car and rear-ended the truck, he said.

"It is believed that the driver of the minibus did not concentrate well so as to make him fail to mind the truck in front of his vehicle," said Bambang.

The driver of the minibus and five passengers were dead on the scene, and one passenger suffered from serious wounds, media quoted Bambang as saying.

All the victims were rushed into nearby Ciereng Hospitall in the district, he said.

On Nov. 24 seven people were killed and 16 others were injured after two passenger buses collided on another highway in Java Island, according to the police.
