JERUSALEM, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tel Aviv University (TAU) and National University of Singapore (NUS) signed on Wednesday an agreement on the collaboration of research on the quantum science and technology.

Singapore's PM Office, business, and financial sectors will finance the joint project of the two leading universities in their regions, according to the TAU statement.

Rector of TAU Yaron Oz said "the quantum revolution is knocking on our door, and it has the potential to create a historical change in our lives."

Collective international cooperation is needed to shape and advance the fields of quantum computing, quantum communications and their impact on the business sector and other sectors, Oz stressed.

TAU also came to a mutual understanding with other research bodies in Singapore, which have mutual interests to collaborate in various fields in addition to science and quantum technology, including the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

TAU recently inaugurated Center for Quantum Science and Technology, headed by Oz. The center promotes partnership with private companies like Google, IBM as well as with other research centers.
