BRATISLAVA, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Slovan Bratislava stretched their lead at the top of the 2019/20 Slovak Fortuna Liga to ten points after defeating Dunajska Streda 2-0.

In the last round of matches before the winter break, the defending champions exacted revenge on the side that had beaten them 5-2 earlier in the season. Dunajska might have opened the scoring but Panamanian defender Eric Davis missed a penalty for the second time in as many matches.

Second-placed Zilina trail Bratislava by ten points after defeating Senica 2-1 in a thrilling game. Senica struck first but the visitors rallied and Miroslav Kacer scored the winner one minute before full-time, securing Zilina's first victory for six matches.

Elsewhere, Zlate Moravce drew for the fourth time in five matches, holding fourth-placed Ruzomberok to 0-0, with both teams failing to score for the third consecutive match.

Michalovce won its third match in a row by defeating Trnava 2-0, moving up three places to take fifth spot and push Trnava down to sixth.

Nitra's North Macedonian midfielder Milan Ristovski made amends for missing a penalty, opening the scoring against Trencin in the 74th minute, but substitute David Depetris tied the game three minutes later, with 1-1 the final score.

Trencin lost a spot in the rankings, slipping to eighth place. The match against Nitra was the last for Trencin's veteran captain Peter Klescik, who spent 16 seasons playing for the two-time league champions.

Newly-promoted Pohronie won its first home game of the season, defeating Sered 2-1 to condemn the visitors to their fourth consecutive defeat.
