KAMPALA, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Francis Kimanzi, the head coach of Kenya's team has been slapped with a two-match suspension for unsporting behavior.

Nicholas Musonye, Secretary-General of the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) said in a communication seen on Monday that Kimanzi should not appear anywhere in the stadium while serving the punishment.

It is said that ahead of the Kenya and Tanzania game on Sunday, the Kenyan technical bench protested the position of the match officials and chased away the 4th official Mohamad Guedi from the dressing room.

"The same technical team mobilized the players not to play the match by locking them inside the room over an accusation that three Tanzanian players had no valid passports," said a letter by Musonye.

The technical bench also broke the door lock during the protest that delayed the kickoff of this match for over 10 minutes, added the letter.

"We are not going to accept indiscipline in our tournaments. Other teams are also asked to keep the highest degree of discipline," added Musonye.

The defending champions Kenya eventually won 1-0.

Kimanzi will now miss Kenya's next two Group B games against Sudan and Zanzibar.

The regional tournament started on Dec. 7 and will end on Dec. 19.
