BEIRUT, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of protesters stormed on Tuesday the municipal building of the Lebanese northern town of Mina in Tripoli city after the death of two Syrians in the collapse of a building in the town, LBCI TV channel reported.

Protesters broke glasses, destroyed furniture and appliances, and set part of the municipal building on fire.

They accused the municipality of failing to properly maintain the collapsed building and the municipality's head of being corrupted.

Later in the day, members of the municipality submitted their resignations, calling for the resignation of the municipality's head to transfer its tasks to Tripoli's governor.

Early on Tuesday, the collapse of an old two-floor building killed a Syrian man and his sister residing in the building.
