ACCRA, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Ghana Football Association on Tuesday held a special integrity seminar for referees who have been selected to officiate in the upcoming 2019-20 season.

The four-day seminar is being led by retired Mauritius referee Lim Kee Chong, who is vice-chairman of FIFA's referees' committee and African football's governing body, CAF.

Over 300 referees and assistants are attending the seminar, which is part of the Ghanaian FA's efforts to ensure that referees selected to take the chair in the upcoming season uphold the integrity and other tenets of refereeing.

Vice president of the GFA, Mark Addo, who represented the executive council at the seminar, urged the referees to strive for professionalism in the new season.

The 2019-20 Ghana Premier League season is scheduled to begin on the weekend of December 27 to 29, after the date was agreed upon during a meeting last month between the FA's executive council and league clubs.
