BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league club Zhejiang Lions announced Wednesday that they have terminated the contract of former NBA player Kenneth Faried.

"The Zhejiang Lions terminated the contract of American basketball player Kenneth Faried on December 4," the club said in a statement, adding that they are scouting a foreign replacement to strengthen the squad.

Faried, 30, joined the Zhejiang side in November after having played in three NBA teams. He averaged 17.3 points, 10 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in seven CBA appearances. The Zhejiang Lions sit fifth among 20 CBA teams at 10-5.

Faried was named MVP of the NBA Rising Stars Challenge in 2013. He was a winning member of the United States for the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
