PHNOM PENH, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn will attend the 14th foreign ministers' meeting of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Madrid, Spain on Dec. 15-16, according to a foreign ministry's statement on Wednesday.
Under the theme "Asia and Europe-together for effective multilateralism," the meeting will deliberate and explore ways to revitalize the multilateral system as well as to build sustainable connectivity for the benefits of the two continents, the statement said.
Sokhonn will also attend a working lunch formatted in a retreat session during which he will address on counter-terrorism issue, it said, adding that furthermore, he will brief the meeting on the preparation for the 13th ASEM Summit which will be held in Cambodia in 2020.
ASEM is a platform for cooperation between countries in Asia and Europe with main focus on three pillars, including political, economic and cultural pillars.
Cambodia became a member of ASEM in 2014.
