ACCRA, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- China's media company StarTimes has kicked off a soccer training program to unearth talents in Ghana.

The five-day exercise is expected to benefit 100 young Ghanaian footballers, according to the company, adding that it is a new partnership model between StarTimes, the official broadcaster of the Bundesliga and German's Bundesliga, targeting the development and promotion of young talents worldwide.

The project involves national football associations, football leagues, and professional clubs to encourage talented young footballers at the grassroots level.

Over the course of the exercise, elite football coaches will provide the players with targeted assistance in a series of compact training sessions and workshops.

Akofa Banson, head of marketing at StarTimes Ghana, said the program is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project which is targeted at developing Ghanaian youth football to the elite level.

"We are doing this as CSR project to project youth football in Ghana," she said.

The program will climax with a football tournament on December 18 to crown a German Bundesliga champion in Ghana.
