LUSAKA, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Zambia recorded a total of 101 road traffic accidents during the New Year holiday, the police said on Thursday.
Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata-Katongo said the road traffic accidents recorded during the holiday decreased compared to 120 accidents recorded during the 2019 New Year period.
The police spokesperson said 13 accidents were fatal and resulted in 13 deaths.
Lusaka, the country's capital, recorded the highest number of road traffic accidents with 38 cases, she added.
