NCPA to stage 8 orchestral concerts marking Spring Festival

BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- A total of eight orchestral concerts will be staged at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) from Friday to Jan. 20 in celebration of the Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year.

The music ensembles, including the China National Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, and the China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra, will bring audiences both traditional Chinese music and Western classical music to meet the different musical tastes.

Audiences will be able to enjoy Tchaikovsky's "The Swan Lake Suite," Johannes Brahms' "Nanie," as well as Chinese music like "Spring Festival Overture," "Beautiful Night" and "On the Field of Hope."

The Chinese Lunar New Year will start on Jan. 25, 2020.
