TOKYO, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Alibaba, a Worldwide Partner for the Olympic Games, will set up their cloud gallery at Tokyo's Narita airport to greet fans from all over the world for the Olympic Games, it was announced here at a news conference on Thursday.

The Alibaba Cloud Gallery will be a creative collaboration with young Japanese artists that brings together sports, culture, and technology in a series of digital installations at one of the world's busiest airports.

"The Alibaba Cloud Gallery is a perfect combination of this vision and the Olympic spirit," said Chris Tung, chief marketing officer of Alibaba Group.

He said that with their efforts, the Tokyo Olympics will be the "most digitally advanced" Games in history.

The Alibaba Cloud Gallery will exhibit more content about the Olympic Games with the event's opening time on July 24 coming closer, Tung said.

Masaaki Komiya, the vice director-general of the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games, said that the Alibaba Cloud Gallery will help to "draw out the hidden value" of the Olympic Games.

"We are looking forward to embracing more of Alibaba Group's innovative initiatives blended with Japanese elements and hope to present to the world the most exciting Olympics experience," said Komiya.

The gallery will officially open in March 2020 and close in March 2021.

Alibaba Group became the IOC's official "Cloud Services" and "E-Commerce Platform Services" Partner in 2017 and the partnership runs through 2028.
