LAUSANNE, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Switzerland's Siri Wigger won her second cross-country skiing gold as she dominated the sprint free at the Winter Youth Olympic Games here on Sunday.
She crossed the finish line in two minutes and 46.40 seconds before she was embraced by cheering friends.
"It's incredible that I could win today," said Wigger, who also claimed the cross free title on Saturday. "I just felt like I had a lot of energy left on the last lap so I pushed really hard and was able to get a little bit of a gap."
"I'm feeling really confident but we have another race to go (the 5km classic on Tuesday), so not too much celebration for now," the 17-year-old girl added.
Anna Heggen of Norway finished second in 2:47.87 and Maerta Rosenberg of Sweden ranked third with 2:48.92.
"I was just trying to hang with Siri. I'm not so fast at the start but I had a good last lap. I didn't realize the result until I had crossed the finish line but it was very fun," said Heggen.
In the men's sprint free, Edvin Anger of Sweden ranked first in 3:10.47, followed by Norway's Nikolai Holmboe and Aleksander Holmboe who finished their races in 3:10.97 and 3:15.51 respectively.
Anger, the runner-up in the cross free, said that he was better for the sprint and he was looking forward to today's race.
"It feels really good to go from silver yesterday to gold today. But it was a really hard, long day. You must know how to relax in between," he said.
