CHONGQING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Tuesday issued a plan with 16 measures to facilitate cross-border trade.

The plan covers measures in the aspects of shortening the customs clearance time, reducing cost for imports and exports, promoting the utilization of the electronic versions of supervisory certificates and improving the efficiency for comprehensive logistics services, according to the port and logistics office of the Chongqing municipal government.

By the end of 2020, the regular cost for the import or export of each container will be reduced to less than 400 U.S. dollars, and the customs clearance will be cut by more than half by the end of 2021 compared with the time in 2017, the plan said.

E-documents will also be promoted to reduce cost and improve efficiency, according to the plan.
