MANILA, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte received a record-high satisfaction rating from Filipinos in the fourth quarter of 2019, an independent pollster's survey showed on Wednesday.

A Social Weather Station (SWS) survey, conducted on Dec. 13-16, found that 82 percent of the 1,200 adult Filipinos are satisfied, 10 percent dissatisfied and 8 percent undecided with Duterte's performance.

This is the highest satisfaction rating during Duterte's presidency term since June 2016.

Compared to September 2019 survey, the SWS said Duterte's gross satisfaction rose by 4 points from 78 percent, gross undecided fell by 1 point from 9 percent, and gross dissatisfaction fell by 3 points from 13 percent.

"This gives a net satisfaction rating of +72, classified by SWS as excellent," the SWS said.

The SWS said, "This is 7 points above the very good +65 (he received) in September 2019, and a new personal record that surpassed the previous in June 2019."

"The president has consistently enjoyed a high satisfaction rating, even reaching a record-high after the midterm period unlike past administrations," Martin Andanar, secretary of Philippine Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), said.

"This means that the president has the support of the people, for which he is very thankful. But more than that, the people support him because they feel his legacy of real change," he added.
