WARSAW, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Local player John Millman will play six-time Australian Open champion Roger Federer in round three of this year's tournament, after beating Poland's Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 in the second round on Wednesday.

Hurkacz, who showed a good form at the ATP Cup prior to the Australian Open, was Poland's greatest hope for success in Melbourne.

The Pole made a good start as Millman dropped a service game, but the Australian bounced back to take the first set after Hurkacz's double fault, before closing out the win in straight sets.

Millman now faces Federer, who saw off Serbia's Filip Krajinovic 6-1, 6-4, 6-1 in his second round tie.
