Almost 92 pct of COVID-19 patients in Kyrgyzstan recovered

BISHKEK, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Almost 92 percent of Kyrgyzstan's COVID-19 patients have recovered, the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 said Wednesday.

According to the latest report from the headquarters, 88 new cases of the disease have been recorded over the last day, raising the tally of infections to 45,630.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Health Mademin Karataev told state radio on Tuesday that about 200,000 citizens have had COVID-19 in the country when taking into account asymptomatic cases.

The headquarters also said that the total number of recoveries from the virus reached 41,904 in the country after 108 new ones were reported on Wednesday.

According to data from the headquarters, 539 patients are now receiving treatment in hospitals throughout the country, while 1,677 patients are at home.

The pandemic has claimed the lives of 1,063 Kyrgyz people since its outbreak, with a fatality rate of 2.3 percent. Enditem
