The first subway tunnel of Metro Line B1 in Tianjin Binhai New Area has been drilled through. The 1.4 km tunnel passes through 12 sites with potential geological risk. The metro line will be 31.6 km long with 22 stations. The line, which connects two high-speed rail stations, is expected to be completed in 2024. The metro line is part of infrastructure projects expected to further facilitate regional integration.
